“We Got Married” LTE Couple Gets Married, Song Jae Rim Answers Question About Having Kids

“We Got Married” LTE Couple Gets Married, Song Jae Rim Answers Question About Having Kids

Even on his wedding day, was full of R-rated comments.

The December 6 episode of MBC’s “” followed the virtual marriages of actor Song Jae Rim and actress , actor and model and Girl’s Day’s Yura, and actor Namgoong Min and Trot singer Hong Jin Young. Hong Jong Hyun met Yura’s parents for the first time, and Namgoong Min and Hong Jin Young cleaned their new home. Song Jae Rim and Kim So Eun walked down the aisle at their wedding.

During the post-wedding reception, the guests threw a variety of questions at the bride and groom. Kim So Eun was asked, “What part of Song Jae Rim specifically do you like?”

“I like his smile,” she responded, to which Song Jae Rim replied, “How can I not smile when I see you?”

When asked, “How many children are you planning to have?” Song Jae Rim responded, “Well, out of 200,000 total, how many…” Kim So Eun was clearly caught off guard by his unexpected R-rated remark.

Song Jae Rim and Kim So Eun replaced 2PM′s Jang Wooyoung and actress Park Se Young on “We Got Married” in September. The two have been nicknamed the LTE couple because of the rapid progression of their relationship.

Highlights: “Pinocchio” Episode 8

Highlights: “Pinocchio” Episode 8

This was an episode about the gap between expectations and reality, and that felt particularly appropriate for “.” I feel like my expectations for every episode are so high—higher than any drama could fulfill. But here’s the thing: while “Pinocchio” is never as perfect in reality as I might like it to be, it’s so much fun, and it makes me feel so much, that I don’t even care. This episode was no exception.

These were my five favorite scenes from “Pinocchio” episode eight:

1. “Can I call you hyung?”

Dal Po’s first meeting with his brother was just so sweet. What really got me was that Dal Po immediately figured out that there was a sinister connection between hyung and the man that framed their father. He knew that something was off, that the Jae Myung he’d known as a child had changed for the worse. But he still protected hyung from the police, and insisted that they looked alike, and asked to call him hyung, because that old love is still there. I’m afraid that Jae Myung is going to utterly break Dal Po’s heart, but like Dal Po, there’s a part of me hoping that somehow everything will work out.

2. In Ha speaks up

I found this scene so satisfying—it’s so nice to see In Ha standing up for herself to her mom, and demanding to be treated like any other newbie. Sure, Song Cha Ok shot her down coldly, but I’m so glad that In Ha won’t take her mother’s cruelty lying down. She knows that she deserves better.

pinocchio 8 park shin hye finalpinocchio 8 jin kyung final

3. KISS

Well this was wonderful! Yes, it’s early in the drama’s run, but I’m not complaining. I actually find it refreshing that we have two adults who are being honest about their feelings! And really, that honesty is what I loved the most about this kiss scene. After an evening of normal uncle/niece behavior—eating dinner together, discussing In Ha’s issues with her mother at work—In Ha asks if they can’t just go back to the comfortable way that their relationship used to be. She insists, hiccupping, that she could return to just being Dal Po’s niece. And hearing that is the push that Dal Po needs to (finally) be truthful about his feelings for In Ha.

I also just loved how the kiss was filmed. The way that Dal Po kisses In Ha’s hand first—not aggressively, but just to show her that he’s completely serious. And then when they kiss for real, it’s completely mutual, and just beautiful, in the middle of the street, under the holiday lights. What a great scene.

4. Proud dad

Admittedly, In Ha’s on-air “debut” didn’t end up working out, but how great was it to see her father bursting with pride, announcing to every single person he met in the police station that his daughter was Choi In Ha, yes, that Choi In Ha, who is making her debut unusually early?

pinocchio 8 shin jung geun final

5. “What a relief, Ha Myung. You’re all right.”

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again—Jae Myung is a difficult character. I think part of the problem is that he’s just underwritten; we haven’t seen enough to fully understand who he is. But the last scene of this episode had me tearing up as Jae Myung drove his car into a truck to stop the truck from hitting a young boy. Even more heartbreaking was the moment when, bleeding from the head, Jae Myung staggers from his car to the boy, who is about the same age as Dal Po was at the time of his “death”. Delirious, Jae Myung calls the boy Ha Myung (Dal Po’s real name), and tells him how good it is to know that he’s all right. I actually gasped at that moment. Admittedly, it wasn’t shocking to see that Jae Myung is stuck in the past. I think that moment just reinforced for me how pitiful Jae Myung’s life is. If only he knew that Ha Myung is still alive—though I fear it’s too late for that knowledge to make any real difference.

Singapore Loves Running Man! And the Running Man cast loves Singapore right back!

Running Man Race Start Season 2 in Singapore! Even if you’re a non-fan, you might know that the Running Man members were in town over the weekend. After all, not only was the fan meeting, Running Man Race Start Season 2, reported in the media, the fan meeting itself was also trending on Saturday night!

Running Man is a South Korean variety show that airs every Sunday on SBS. Since its first airing on 11 July 2010, it has seen many guests, from super idols, heavy-weight actors and actresses to athletes on national teams, appearing on the show, many of them are fans themselves. Running Man holds a very special spot in many fans’ hearts. The superbly creative games week after week, the camaraderie when the Running Man members play against the invited guests and the betrayal when everyone gets all competitive, making very compelling and addictive draw for the fans.

It probably wouldn’t even be an exaggeration to say Running Man is more popular than many K-dramas! For one, it’s definitely lasted longer! And which variety show do you know that actually does asia tours like Running Man does?

Last Saturday evening we saw fans turning up in full boisterous and spirited support for the fan meeting at Star Vista. If last year’s maiden asia tour, Season 1, was a success, then this year’s Season 2 was an even bigger success with a bigger venue and turnout.

Although it would have been even lovelier to have Yoo Jae Suk and Kang Gary to make the full seven-member line-up, it was obvious the five members, namely, Ji Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, HaHa, Lee Kwang Soo and Song Ji Hyo, who came tried their very best to make the fans feel the love.

Race Start Season 2 started at 7:50pm and opened with all five members, clad smartly in all-black outfits, crooning ‘My Destiny’ from the perennially popular ‘My Love From the Star’.

After the opening item by the group, all five took their seats for the Q&A session with local host Danny Yeo. True to their on-screen persona, there was lots of banter and joking around as they answered the questions. Only Kim Jong Kook spoke in English; his command of the language seems above-average and it was great to be able to communicate with him without the help of the interpreter. And yup, everyone said they loved Singapore!

Then the cast changed into more comfortable training gear and started Running Man-style games with lucky fans picked by the cast themselves! Lucky fans who were onstage got hugs and photos! Lots of very warm fan service everywhere!

After the games came the solo stages. It kicked off with Ji Suk Jin’s English number, a 1977 oldie by Billy Joel, Just The Way You Are. He actually sounded quite good! Lee Kwang Soo was up next, and he too picked an old favourite. He showed off a little of his piano skills as he crooned Bogoshipda (I Miss You) from the 2003 drama, Stairway to Heaven.

Ace Song Ji Hyo was next and she sang Scent Of A Flower from her TVN drama, Emergency Couple. She was simply dressed in a black-and-white animal print top with black skinny jeans, exuding simple chic. When she was done with the song, she did not leave the stage and proceeded to launch into another song. Not just another song! She’d picked LeeSsang’s Turn Off the TV!! Unfortunately, Gary wasn’t there, so no Monday Couple for the Singapore fans. But HaHa and Kim Jong Kook came out to perform with Ji Hyo… Nice!

One of the highlights of the night must be the special Troublemaker stage by Ji Suk Jin and Lee Kwang Soo. Ji Suk Jin wore a platinum blond wig and pretended to swag it all out like Hyunseung. Lee Kwang Soo, complete with long flowing locks and a sexy dress, was Hyuna-wannabe. It was hilariously entertaining to watch them mimic the sexy moves!!

After the high of the Troublemaker stage, out came Kim Jong Kook to mellow everyone down with the ballade One Man. The singer continued to charm the audience despite his slight cold with his own cool rendition of Maroon 5′s Sunday Morning.

Fans were in for a treat as HaHa unleashed the reggae musician in him and let him out to play. As HaHa belted out special remixes of his songs, the audience got to their feet. Trust HaHa to bring the party mood out and turn it all up. Fans left their seats to gather at the front of the stage and those who remained at their seats were standing and grooving to the beat. Truth be told, even some Kpop artists were not able to move the audience like HaHa did on Saturday night. Great job, Haroro!

When HaHa’s done with this remixes, Kim Jong Kook came to join him and the duo put up a fabulous performance of Twist King. The encore segments were AMAZING!!

Yes, encore segmentS. First was the almost obligatory encore, fans even carried out a special event for the Running Man cast after the first encore. Lights were dimmed and everyone started waving their lightsticks or cellphones and singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. When the song ended, the screen flashed “Go ma wo” (Thank you) and “Sa rang hae (Love you).

The organizer also wheeled out a cake and Ji Hyo was so overwhelmed with emotions that she started tearing! And Ji Suk Jin led everyone into cheering; he would say ‘Go ma wo’ to the fans, and the fans would yell back ‘Sa rang hae’. It was so nice!

Then came the second encore, and everyone’s spirits were even more exuberant! So much screaming and singing along! And oh, the Running Man cast even did the traditional bow for the fans! It was obvious they felt the love from the fans.

After they had gone after the second encore, and the lights were turned on, nobody in the audience was expecting them to return to the stage. BUT THEY DID! They came out for a third encore! By then it was plain to see the Running Man members felt so loved and they could not bear to leave. It was an almost magical moment for both the stars and the fans; one could feel the connection and the love so strongly!

So I saw, Singapore loves Running Man. And Running Man loves Singapore right back!

p.s. Ji Suk Jin said, “See you next year!”

Thanks to ONE for bringing Running Man members to Singapore and inviting us to witness the high popularity and charms of the members. For those who wants to watch Running Man on TV, new episodes of Running Man premiere on Fridays at 11.45pm first and exclusively on ONE. Repeats air on the following Friday at 7.40pm, as well as on Saturdays and Sundays at 11.15pm.

Highlights: “Pinocchio” Episode 7

Highlights: “Pinocchio” Episode 7

I feel like a broken record—it’s another wonderful episode of “”! In episode seven, Dal Po learns that he is capable of making huge mistakes, and though he’s upset at first, he ultimately proves that he is willing to grow up and become a better person. Meanwhile, In Ha gets her first reporting victory, and it’s wonderfully satisfying.

These were my five favorite scenes from episode seven of “Pinocchio”:

1. Dal Po argues with himself

The entire beginning of this episode, in which Dal Po discovers, too late, that there’s far more to the story of the ajumma who died in the gym than a simple desire to be thin, was so heartbreaking. On the one hand, I’m so happy for In Ha to have this moment of triumph, where she could prove to everyone who doubted her that she can be a good journalist because she is a Pinocchio. And I don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world for Dal Po to have been knocked down a peg, given his earlier cruelty and self-righteousness. But this was still incredibly painful to watch. To see Dal Po realize that he has hurt the ajumma’s daughter in the same way that he was hurt, but purely by accident, was just so wrenching. Worst of all was this scene, in which Dal Po relives the debate from the YGN tryouts—the debate during which he outed In Ha as a Pinocchio, citing her arrogance and thoughtless confidence in her own words as the reason why. But this time, he’s the object of scorn. Even though he tries, he can’t defend himself against himself. It’s a great scene. Here’s hoping that this incident just makes Dal Po a better, more careful reporter in the future. pinocchio 7 lee jong suk 1 final pinocchio 7 lee jong suk 2 finalpinocchio 7 2 lee jong suks final

2. Jang Hyun Kyu, Hwang Gyo Dong, and snakes?

This scene was so bizarre, but I laughed my head off. It turns out that the YGN sunbaes have always been crazy, as we see in this flashback, in which trainee Jang Hyun Kyu brought his father to work to throw snakes on Hwang Gyo Dong. I love how this drama isn’t afraid to be weird, as the weirdness really helps relieve the darkness of the story.

pinocchio 7 min sung wook finalpinocchio 7 snakes finalpinocchio 7 lee pil mo final

3. Reporter Mom

Speaking of weird: Bum Jo’s mom! I still don’t like Bum Jo (it’s nothing against —I just don’t like the character), but his mother is amazing—funny and outrageous but ultimately kind-hearted. She shows off her compassion in this episode, as she interrogates traffic cops and drunk criminals in the place of In Ha, who has come down with a bad case of the flu. Seeing this woman, in her feathers and furs, alternately bribe and berate policemen in the middle of the night, was just wonderfully strange. I hope we get to see a lot more of this character in the future.

pinocchio 7 kim hae sook final

4. The couple that watches each other sleep together, stays together

Last week Dal Po watched In Ha sleep; now it’s her turn to return the favor, as her uncle takes a rest after bringing her to the hospital (it turns out she had shingles, not the flu!). What a lovely, tender scene. I know I keep on saying this, but is so good in this role—the wistful longing she displayed in this scene was just so touching. Now if only these two could just look at each other longingly at the same time!

pinocchio 7 park shin hye lee jong suk finalpinocchio 7 park shin hye finalpinocchio 7 lee jong suk 3 finalpinocchio 7 park shin hye lee jong suk 2 final

5. Reunion

Jae Myung is, to me, a problematic character. Sure, he seems sweet—but he’s a triple murderer! I wish that we could have spent more time with him before those murders, so that we could better understand just what kind of a person he is. But honestly, this character is most important to this drama in terms of how he effects Dal Po. And in this scene, the two finally meet—and once he hears Jae Myung’s name, Dal Po knows that he’s meeting his hyung for the first time in thirteen years. I’m already scared for how Dal Po will react when he discovers what sort of a man his hyung has become.

pinocchio 7 lee jong suk 4 finalpinocchio 7 yoon kyoon sang final pinocchio 7 yoon kyoon sang lee jong suk final

I know that I left out a lot of good scenes (this drama is so good that only choosing five scenes every episode is very difficult!), so come to the comments and let us know what your favorites were!
