YG Entertainment explains G-Dragon's controversial Instaphoto

G-Dragon is in the hot seat now, and that's not directly because of his concerts or his music.

Recently, he posted a photo on his Instagram that sparked into a controversy. In the photo, he wore a gray T-shirt over his head and his face is painted black. It has the caption, 'X'.

The photo became a great news because it tapped a very sensitive issue. In US, American artists paid tribute to the slain American youth Trayvon Martin,  a 17-year-old African American high school student,  by wearing a hoodie.  With the black paint on G-Dragon’s face, many thought that it's about Trayvon Martin.
A representative for G-Dragon explained, “The face paint is only one of the color variations ( black, white, and red)  for his next album cover. It is not meant to be a political or racial statement.”

Trayvon Martin was shot by George Zimmerman,  a 28-year-old mixed-race Hispanic,  on February 26, 2012.
